Born in Luxembourg City in 1990. Influenced by the works and thinking of the Expressionist, Dada and Neue Sachlichkeit movements in literature and painting. University studies in German Literature and Philosophy in Cologne (GER), with an emphasis on Avantgarde artists and Greek philosophers. 

Various artistic endeavors, exhibitions of paintings and writing of poems and theatre scripts. Development of a documentary film, co-written and co-directed with Chris Poulles.

Active member of AAPL and ARC, Jacques Schmitz currently lives and works as an independent artist and writer in Luxembourg.
